Current Job                       Behavior Supports Professional 23.00-30.00/hr DOE
Position Summary:
The Behavior Supports Professional oversees the assessment of needs and provides the intervention support for individuals who may require elevated systems due to intensified behaviors.  The Behavior Supports Professional ensures timely and accurate documentation, written plans, tracking, training, and implementation of plans for agency programs. Developed Functional Assessments and plans are to be implemented, trained, tracked, and updated consistently and timely.  A behavior professional must - (A) Review the information outlined in a PBSP with the individual and their legal or designated representative and designated person. (B) Demonstrate the behavior supports written in a PBSP to the individual and their legal or designated representative and designated person. (C) Provide initial training to an individual's designated person on the behavior supports identified in the individual's PBSP. (D) With consent from an individual or their legal or designated representative, observe the individual's designated person implementing the PBSP, or role-playing portions of the PBSP. (E) Gather feedback from an individual's designated person to inform modifications to the PBSP prior to finalizing the PBSP. The Behavior Supports Professional must be willing to be an OIS instructor and oversee the OIS training of RWC employees.  The Behavior Supports Professional demonstrates knowledge and understanding of professionalism and leadership and respects the roles of other management personnel and subordinates.  They work for the improvement, maintenance, success and general well-being of the Ron Wilson Center, its clients and its employees. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

       Meets the OAR 411-304 requirements of 1 or more of the following credentials:

(1) Possess a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) graduate level certification in behavior analysis and one year of experience using positive behavior support services with individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities.

(2) Possess a Master of Arts or Master of Science in psychology, sociology, human services, education, social work, or the equivalent as evidenced by providing transcripts indicating applicable coursework, and one year of experience using positive behavior support services with individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities.

(3) Possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in psychology, sociology, human services, education, social work, or the equivalent as evidenced by providing transcripts indicating applicable coursework, and three years of experience using positive behavior support services with individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities.

(4) A minimum of six years of experience performing professional behavior services using positive behavior support services prior to January 1, 2021.

  • Maintain a minimum of 12 hours of training each enrollment period of ongoing education in the field of positive behavior support services, adaptive behaviors, behavior management, or a related topic.

  • Maintain certification in an ODDS-approved behavior intervention curriculum.

  • Approval and ability to maintain a background check specific to the role of behavior professional through the State of Oregon

  • Receive and maintain training as a Mandatory Abuse Reporter

  • At least 18; current driver’s license; excellent driving record, and proof of insurance.

  • Able to read, write, and converse fluently in English

     

  • *Writing assessments are a crucial component of this position; candidates selected for interviews will be asked to provide a writing assignment.  The writing assignment must be completed and emailed prior to the interview.
